The Story of Live in 8

A God-given new beginning.

What began as a dream given to our founder, Zulay, became a message of hope, faith, renewal, family, and the reminder that with God, there is always a new beginning.

Where It Began

A dream from God.

In 2007, our founder Zulay dreamed of what looked like a book cover with the words “Live in 8” and “La mejor manera de vivir.”

At first, she did not fully understand what the dream meant. Over time, God revealed the message behind it. The number 8 represented new beginnings. Live in 8 became a reminder that no matter what life looks like, with God there is always another chance to begin again.

Not only at the beginning of a new year, but every day, every hour, every moment.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”

Isaiah 43:18-19

About Zulay

More than a founder.

Zulay was a wife, mother, sister, daughter, visionary, creator, encourager, and the person everyone called when they needed wisdom, comfort, direction, or help.

She was funny, deeply intelligent, endlessly creative, free-spirited, and always thinking about others before herself. She carried beauty and faith into everything she touched, from the jewelry she designed to the way she loved people. Ironically, for someone who impacted so many lives, she never really liked taking pictures. She preferred being fully present in the moment instead.

Long before Live in 8 became a lifestyle brand, it first lived through the jewelry she created and shared with others. Every piece carried meaning. Every design carried heart.

Faith Through the Valley

Not the end, a new beginning.

In 2024, Zulay was diagnosed with cancer. The months that followed were some of the hardest her life and her family’s life would ever walk through.

But even in the middle of pain, uncertainty, appointments, prayers, and tears, her family held on to Jesus. They believed for a miracle. They believed for healing. They believed that God was still good, still present, and still writing the story.

And He did heal her. Not here, but in heaven, where there is no more sickness, no more pain, no more crying, and no more death.

In her final days, Zulay said that what looked like the end of her life was really her Live in 8 — her new beginning into eternal life with Jesus.

Her Live in 8

Heaven was her new beginning.

In that moment, the message God had given her years before became deeply personal. Live in 8 was not just a phrase, a brand, or a dream. It was real in her own life.

It became her reminder, and now it has become ours: with God, every ending can still hold the promise of something new.

The Future of Live in 8

A lifestyle rooted in renewal.

Live in 8 is growing into more than a brand. It is becoming a way of living rooted in faith, hope, family, beauty, wellness, creativity, and beginning again with intention.

Through handmade products, future wellness spaces, storytelling, and meaningful everyday reminders, the message continues forward exactly as Zulay always carried it: with joy, warmth, faith, and love for people.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” Revelation 21:4
A Moment to Reflect

What could your Live in 8 be?

Maybe it begins with forgiving yourself. Maybe it begins with forgiving someone else. Maybe it begins with letting go of an offense, releasing what did not go the way you hoped, or trusting that an ending can still become the doorway to something new.

What are you being invited to release?

What would it look like to finally move forward?

Where do you need to let God make something new?

What if this ending is not the end, but the beginning of a new chapter?
